muir woods

We checked off another must-do this weekend for our SF/Palo Alto experiences list. Muir Woods was beautifulllll and very very wet. Like we looked like drowned rats-wet afterwards. Ha. We came unprepared-without food, proper jackets, or shoes-but we made it through.

I'm not a big hiker, but there is this kind of renewing feeling that comes when you're outside. I hate the entire experience and then I'm really grateful that people literally shove me up mountains (my father in law did it last month-there was a trust-fall exercise involved) because I learn to appreciate what others appreciate. Make sense? I love it because other people love it and I need to learn to love things that I don't love doing. Say that 10x fast. YAY hiking!

Zions

Taking a day or two away from school, work, and just life are sometimes completely justified. Although school has only been in session for about 2 weeks, we couldn't resist going to our friends ranch just outside of Zion's National park. With four other couples, we slept under the stars, ate some yummy food, and got to hike the Narrows before Caleb and I had to leave early for a church meeting.
For anyone looking for a "hike" that has no incline, heat, or aspect of exercise (basically if you're like me) the Narrows is the perfect place.

Arches National Park

This last week has been pure vacation until we move to Houston. We decided to test out our new camping gear that we received from our wedding and head to Arches in Moab. It was great to do another "first" as a couple--camping. I also learned that I am in no way, shape, or form the hiker I thought I was.

Delicate Arch, with beautiful hair

We also went to the famous Daylight Donuts once we got into Provo since we are now "donut connoisseurs". Our mission is to find the best donuts in Utah…or anywhere we go. Above is before, below is after.
